I, Shadro am here to save YOU the time of asking questions about the forum or some other things.

Question 1: Why are you doing this?

I have to much time on my hands, what else would it be....

Question 2: What will be covered?

More than you need, but enough to answer your questions

Question 3: Ok, fine. Give me an Avatar rundown.

Well since you asked oh so nicely I will. An avatar (also know as a ava) is a picture displayed under your name, that's really just it. It's a picture that you provide to give yourself an identity in a sense. It's a way to be creative. I could go on for a while, but in the end it is the picture that you have that identifies you.

Question 4: Yea....now how do I use these avatar's so I can have my 'identity'

First of all don't mock me like that. It was a very user friendly answer. Anyway to get use your own we need to check a few things. Is it the right size? The right size for an avatar is 100X100 pixels. If it isn't it will be sized down. That's the way it is I can't change it. Now to use said picture you can do it in two different ways. You can upload it form your computer or you can upload it to your image hosting site of choice and then provide the URL. Now to get it on the forum.
1.Go to “My Controls”
2.On the left side go to Edit Avatar Settings
3a. If your uploading the picture form your computer go to “Upload a picture form your computer” click the browse and find your picture
3b. If your using the URL insert the URL in the “Enter a URL to an online avatar image“
And there you have an avatar.

Question 5: You said image hosting site. What is it and what are some good ones.

All right an image hosting site is just a site where you can upload pictures form your computer and use them to post places by having using the URL for the picture. Some good ones? Well I know a few that are good so link you I shall.

Question 6: Signature?

Well a Signature (also know as sig) it what you would think of it to be. It is something that appears after every post you have. You can have almost anything you want in yours.

Question 7: How do I get a picture in my 'sig'?

Well...what you need to do for that is get said picture uploaded to an image hosting site. Also make sure the picture is not too big. Give the dial up users a break. Anyways once you have your picture uploaded you want to take the URL and put it with this before it

. That right there is a tag. Will get to them. But after that your done.

Question 8: How do I get to edit my sig and stuff?
1.“My Controls”
2.Left side “Edit Signature”

Question 9: When I'm viewing a topic it looks different what happen?

Finally something not commonly asked. Anyways, when you are viewing a topic in this area. You see in the right where it says “Outline . Standard . Liner +” well those are options to view topics in a different way. Standard is what your use to seeing. So somewhere you pressed one by accident. Simply fix that by clicking Standard.

Question 10: What is a 404 Error?

Question 11: Why was the last answer so short?

Cus it can be and there is no reason to expand on it

Question 12: Tell me about the 'tag' thing.

Fine, a tag is basically HTML code (It's really BB code) that is used to change text or post links and pictures and such. So for bold text a tag would be used.

Question 13: How do I link using a picture.

Question 15: What was that BB Code

It's the tags, so like the [img] and stuff but it can do a lot more. When your making a post look for the “BB Code Help” and take a look at it.

Question 16: How do I stop getting the e-mails saying I have a new PM?
1.My Controls
2.“E-mail Settings” (bottom left)
3.uncheck “Send a confirmation email when I receive a new private message “

Question 17: Why does Mystere say “JUSTICE!” all the time?

Ask him yourself.

Question 20: File Formats?

Ah, File Formats no worries I'll get you though it. I'll just give you the ones you should use in a nice simple little line.
PNG- Great for your Ava's and sig's, give good quality for it's file size and give the option for transparency.
GIF- Great for the moving pics, also along with PNG has the transparency option
JPG- Perfect for your desktop images, file size can be big sometimes though.

Question 21: Attachment?

-sigh- For Firefox the harder of the two, do so
1. Right click on attachment
2. do a save as
3. save to desktop
4. then you look at the attachment and see what type of file it is
5. rename file (which should be index.php) with the type (so like .jpg, .png, .gif) (an example would be index.jpg)
6. Open file and enjoy
Maybe a bit to much work, but it will keep you out of IE...

A bitmap. It's an image file format. O.o;;; Basically, it has HUGE file sizes and all of America spits on it... Kinda... Though it's useful sometimes, I guess... xD;

bmp is good for icons on you comp (ya'know like the my computer thing) other than that I would avoid it. Plus it can make the pic look bad quality wise. Still PNG for the win

I have a question. I see people who have customized text under their avatar (like Koinu has Team beam. ಠ_ಠ). How can I add my own customized text? o.o
